Sometimes it does look good when we cut off- beat. It depends on what meaning you want to achieve through the edited product.

I have a realized that the sound gets prominency every time a shot appears exactly on a beat.This might sometimes hinder the visual flow but will have maximum impact to beautifully establish a new "change" in charecters mood or revelations. It comes by practice to understand what i mean.
